Fishing rules
The Land Owners Association publishes own lockal angler rules. All anglers are also obliged to study the current fishing rules aimed for the Vest-Agder Region.
Fishing equipment
You are allowed to use fly, lure or worm in all zones. Fishing with live-bait is illegal and offenders will be reported to the police. In order to prevent spreading the paracite Gyrodactylus salaris it is illegal to use a sinker or float filled with water. Deliberate foul-hooking, or snagging, is also illegal.
Bag limits
Maximum of 1 salmon per angler per day.
Fishing seatrout is forbidden upstream Møll bro in zone 2. Downstream Møll bro the baglimit is 1 seatrout or 1 salmon.
In the Zone 3 there is a maximum of 10 salmon per angeler per season.
All kelts (overwintered salmon) must be released.

Sone 1, 2 og 3 01.06 - 31.08
Sone 4 01.07 – 15.09
Catch reports – deposits.
The Land Owners Association of the River Mandal intend to maintain a good catch reporting system. All anglers are requested to return their catch reports to our sales offices within 4 days after fishing. This goes for all fishermen and all permits. Anglers with season permits must report back on a weekly basis to of the sales offices for the zone or via our Internet-site. The deposits are NOK 100,- 100,- and 200,- for day, week and season permit respectively. Deposits will be refunded when catch reports are returned to one of the Sales offices for the zone. (no later than september 15.)
All your fishing equipment will have to bee disinfected before fishing starts (at our sales offices)
The salmon parasite Gyrodactylus salaris is present in many Norwegian rivers. In the southern part of Norway the parasite is established in River Lierelva and river Drammenselva with Begna and in River Lærdalselva. In River Begna G. salaris is found on rainbow trout, who is a good host for the parasite. Grayling an char can also carry G. salaris for a long time. The parasite is also present in some swedish rivers. The occurrence of G. Salaris in these rivers is a serious threat to Atlantic salmon in all parts of southern Norway. The parasite G. salaris cause high mortality to juvenile Atlantic salmon.

It's forbidden to move fish and/or water from rivers or lakes that can be contaminated with

G. salaris.

DRY THOROUGHLY AND DISINFECT all fishing equipment, shoes, boats, outboards e.g. that has been in contact with freshwater before you use it in another river or lake.

Do not clean the fish anywhere else but where it is caught.

Do not move water or fish between rivers or lakes.
