Fishing regulations
1. Baglimit 2 salmon pr angler pr day
2. Only rod fishing is permitted. Each fishing licence is valid for one rod. Only the following bait are permitted:
– flies, worms, spinners, wobblers.
3. A one-day licence is valid for 24 hours from 12 noon. A week licence is valid from Monday (00:01 hrs) to Sunday (24:00 hrs).
4. In zones 2 and 3 upstream from the boat workshop Helle Båt og Bygg (Stoffbua), fishing is only permitted from the river banks. Along the whole river, we use a rotating fishing system: anglers must change fishing place every two hours.
5. Fishing is not permitted near fish ladders, sills and ponds.
The areas 50 m above and 50 m below these kinds of devices are protected.
6. The minimum size for salmon and sea trout is 35 cm.
7. The risk of spreading fish diseases must be taken seriously.
– Disinfect your equipment if you have been fishing in another river. Contact the supervisor for assistance.
– All fishing equipment must be completely dry before it is used in Nidelva. This also applies to boots, waders, boats, etc.
– It is prohibited to transport fish, water, plants, etc. from one watercourse to another.
– Do not clean fish in the river.
8. The River Owners’ Association’s supervisors are there to give advice and make sure that fishing is done lawfully. On request, you must produce your fishing licence.
9. After you have finished fishing, please complete the form on the back of the fishing licence and send it to Nedre Nidelva River Owners’ Association. The licence may also be handed in at the place it was bought or to the supervisors.
NB! Please submit your fishing licence even if you do not catch anything.
